Diabetes & Exercise

Remember all those months ago when I was begging for your questions about diabetes? And then remember how I got a bunch and you haven’t heard a peep since? Well that all changed on Saturday and since I think a lot of people missed it – I’m posting it here too. I recorded a vlog to answer John’s (@daddyrunsalot) question about how diabetes effects my workouts. Here’s my response:

  1. Thanks, Jess! I can’t imagine the frustration of having to eat back any/all calories that you just “worked off”. Heck, I hate that I need to eat & pour calories into my system after a big run just to get myself to function…but it’s quite necessary. I know I’m doing more good than harm (even if I eat the same number of calories that I burned, because your body continues burning calories at an accelerated pace after you finish working out)

    I love the bikini motivation (I’m about 2 months from needing to look good in a swim suit, so I’m starting to get a bit more serious).

    Dealing with forearm pinching during weight training sounds absolutely aggravating.
